Frequently asked questions

What is unique about Acadly’s attendance-tracking technology?

Acadly uses Bluetooth based mesh-networking, whereas other tools commonly use GPS for attendance. The former is more resistant to fraud and reduces the number of actions required in-class to track attendance.

How does Acadly prevent attendance fraud?

Acadly uses a Bluetooth-based mesh-network technology to detect students inside the classroom. It isn't possible to fake or spoof presence remotely, nor is it practical to stand outside the class since the instructor can initiate the attendance process and, once started, it runs for only 2.5 minutes.

Is Acadly free for UIC faculty and students to use?

Yes. As part of Acadly's enterprise contract with UIC, Acadly is free for all professors and students.
